Mineral Owners
At Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc., we believe that the future of oil and gas exploration in the Continental United States will be driven by innovation and new technology that enables the recovery of previously unattainable reserves. The key to the tapping of these reserves is devising an economically viable means of reaching them.
That's our specialty. Since 1990, we've been very successful at identifying and developing large oil and gas projects the industry at large saw no potential in. We're well known as a company that thrives on working at the frontier, seeking out resources that had been difficult to reach for any number of reasons, from environmental sensitivity to technological challenges, but which are now within reach. In some cases, we've opened up resources in areas that have not been looked at for 50 years. Our long track record proves we're good at what we do. Since its inception, Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc. has developed 19 exploration projects, ranging in size from 20,000 to over 100,000 acres.
Your priorities are our priorities
We know that what's most important to the landowners we partner with isn't the untapped wealth below the ground: it's what's on the surface that really matters. In all of our dealings and contracts, being a good neighbor and respecting our surface owners is paramount. We strive to be good stewards of the land that is entrusted to us while jointly harvesting the resources of our surface owners.
Whether it's sitting down with our Lessors to identify their specific concerns, or reclaiming and restoring the land to its original condition once the project has run its course, we can accommodate the needs of property owners while still providing them with the financial benefits to be had from recovering the oil and gas that lies beneath the landscape. We make sure everything is up-front, clearly understood and in writing before we sign the lease. We have experience working in environmentally sensitive areas, including Federal Bureau of Land Management and Indian Tribal Lands property. Two of our projects, dealing with environmental challenges that others were unable to solve, were successfully completed due to our staff experts in environmental and water management. This expertise has also allowed us to complete successful projects overlying active coal mines and storage fields in the Rocky Mountain region.
Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc. also prides itself on accessibility. Surface owners are our partners in the projects we develop, and we value our relationship with them very highly. We're a well-established, successful company and operate thousands of leases in cooperation with companies like BP and Chesapeake, but that doesn't mean we're an impersonal, faceless organization. We're more than happy to take the time to talk to landowners personally, and will do whatever we can to answer questions and address concerns. What we do
The days when big oil companies did all of their own exploration are long gone. With consolidation and downsizing, much of the work of developing the resource has been picked up by smaller, more agile, independent companies like Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc.
The process begins when explorationists – geologists, geophysicists and engineers – approach us with a proposal help them acquire a particular deposit. We use our own in-house expertise to review the proposal, examine the geology, geochemistry and seismic data, and map the area. The proposed recovery method is considered.
We take all the pieces of the puzzle, put them together, and determine whether the project is viable. If so, we sign a contract with the explorationists to proceed and our real work begins. We send out teams of landmen to do title searches and contact the mineral rights owners in the area we're interested in developing. The job is a big one – for any given project we'll be working with hundreds of mineral owners, and we work to get every one of them on board before we begin drilling operations.
Once all of the oil and gas leases have been signed, we partner with an operating oil company, with specific expertise in the particular technology to be used, to do the actual drilling of the wells and to conduct the production operations.
In other words, we are a company that makes it all possible.
Our current projects
As of 2006, our properties lie in 19 oil and gas basins spread across twelve states, and include coal bed methane, fractured shales, tight sand gas and basin center gas deposits. The exploration and development budget for this year totals more than $180 million.
Current projections are for more than 140 wells to be drilled on Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc. acreage this year. If entirely successful, our properties can accommodate over 3,000 drilling locations. We are also in the process of purchasing acreage on five separate shale gas projects from Wyoming to Texas and Mississippi to Maryland.
In addition, Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc. has been pursuing horizontal well redevelopment in some of the most prolific reservoirs in the continental United States. Many of these reservoirs had initial production rates of 3,000 barrels of oil per well per day, yet have yielded only 15 percent of the oil in place due to water coning of the wells. Our goal is to recover the oil from the top of these reservoirs, holding production rates back to 400 barrels per day, thereby greatly reducing the water coning problem. This project could potentially expand to hundreds of wells, yielding tens of millions of barrels of oil.
Horizontal drilling is also being considered to tap a large and continuous oil reservoir in thick oil shales that is currently being studied. The potential production of this reservoir is more than 10 million barrels of oil.
Why Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc.
Our ability to stay ahead of the industry lies in our agility and our approach to exploration and development, and is something we pride ourselves on. Our total focus is on unconventional opportunities, and we take care to position ourselves to be able to move rapidly to capture these opportunities when they arise. We are always in the process of evaluating and/or acquiring several unconventional plays simultaneously. We have a well-established industry network that lets us call on the expertise we need, when we need it, to get the job done quickly and efficiently.
We take an integrated approach to coal bed methane and shale gas evaluation including geology, geophysics and engineering, and have knowledge of a wide range of unconventional gas plays across the United States and around the world.
All key members of our organization have decades of experience, ranging from 23-30 years in the industry. We have an established track record of successful evaluation and development stretching back some 15 years as an independent organization, and members of our organization have formed their own production, operating and independent exploration companies since 1978.
Infinity Oil & Gas, Inc. brings with it distinct advantages that make us the partner of choice: proven success, superior knowledge and expertise, and a philosophy that puts the environment and the needs of our partners first.
